The Doubleback™ Harness is a full-body dog lifting harness. It's a strength-rated belay harness that opens up new areas for dogs to explore with their humans that would otherwise be difficult to access. Strength-rated to 2,000 lbf or 8.9 kN, the Doubleback Harness is designed to be comfortable while aiding in lifting and lowering dogs in exposed areas, meaning your furry buddy can tag along when the climb gets steep.

    An extreme activity harness for a former extreme dog

    Otto and I did everything together. Multi day hikes, just me and my dog, 5k races, mountain biking, etc. A very active German Shepherd dog. Attached to my side from college, law school, starting my career, my first house, and now, to starting my family.

    He's 13 now and, as large breeds can do, he has developed degenerative myopathy. His rear legs get tripped up/ twisted on themselves and cannot hold his weight.

    He has good days and bad days, but obviously, we are not able to do what we used to. Some days he can barely walk. But this harness has dramatically changed his life for the better.

    The leg loops being connected to the overall structure provide stability for his back legs, preventing him from tripping over his own feet. The rear handle allows us to "wheelbarrow" him when his legs won't work so we can get him outside or around the house. Of course, both handles can be used simultaneously to aid in carrying him when necessary.

    Thank you Ruffwear. Your gear helped fuel many years of adventure for me and my best friend. And while we cannot load up a Ruffwear backpack and sleep on the AT for a few days, Ruffwear is still there, facilitating a better life for me and my dog.

    Would recommend.

    The Best Harness for my little escape artist.

    I love this harness. This harness works perfectly for my 2 dogs. Every harness on the market doesn't compare to Ruffwear. My dogs can get out of every harness I have tried. NOT this one. I feel secure walking my dogs in the park or my neighborhood. Because the harness is meant for more stringent usage it doesn't have a place to clip on a leash, so I use a carabiner clip at the ATTACH hook and it works perfectly for walking my two babies. Best purchase!
