I think the seat cover is very functional and a nice safety amendment to any car carrying a dog. I like that you can still sit in the car without having to remove the cover. It does help keep my car clean and most important my dog safe. I purchased this following a car accident my service dog and I were in. I feel much more secure with the hammock and seat belt system with the dirtbag cover than the one I used before.
